IT’S ALL ABOUT RECOVERY


After each member completes their assessment I sit down to design their program.

A key component of their program is their recovery protocols.

Recover is one of thee most important elements I discuss with members!

And

It’s the most under valued piece of our puzzle!

We all understand that our bodies must be put under stress in order to develop.

Though adequate recovery needs to occur to maximise the exposure of this stimulus…

If recovery is incomplete then we run the risk of fatigue, injury and burnout.

But, where do we start?

We can discuss many recovery methods from; hydrotherapy, nutrition, massage even compression garments. All of the above are valid methods….

However, we need to take it right back to the start

We start with sleep 😴

Research suggests that sleep can help reduce:
👉stress
👉inflammation
👉plus aid in repairing our bodies mentally as well as physically…

We all are beginning to understand the importance of recovery….

However, implementing protocols into our lifestyles can become somewhat tricky

Why?!

One aspect we all struggle with is the reduction of phones, TV’s and video games before bed….

Again we are all realising the stimulation affects of these devices neurologically…

I suggest setting a sleep schedule.

⏰ commit to a fixed wake-up time; This allows you to gain consistent sleep patterns.

😴 Prioritise sleep; calculate a target bedtime based on your wake up time.

📴 Make gradual adjustments; unplugging your electronics and turning off notifications.

Get the basics right!
